Coach Expectations
All coaches must:
- Put players first — prioritize safety, development, and enjoyment over winning.
- Model sportsmanship — treat players, umpires, opponents, parents, and league officials with respect at all times.
- Lead positively — encourage effort, confidence, teamwork, and fair play.
- Follow the rules — comply with league policies, safety standards, and playing rules (including pitch counts and participation requirements).
- Communicate professionally — use appropriate language and maintain respectful communication, including on social media.
- Be prepared and responsible — complete required training, certifications, and background checks.
Prohibited Behavior
The following behaviors are not permitted:
- Verbal abuse, yelling at, or belittling players, umpires, or others.
- Use of profanity, obscene gestures, or inappropriate language.
- Arguing with or intimidating umpires.
- Harassment, discrimination, or retaliation of any kind.
- Cheating, roster manipulation, or falsifying records.
- Gambling related to youth baseball activities.
Zero‑Tolerance Violations
(Subject to immediate suspension or dismissal)
- Consuming or being under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs before or during games, practices, or any league event.
- Smoking, vaping, or use of tobacco products in the presence of players or on the field/dugout.
- Physical intimidation or inappropriate physical contact.
- Any form of abusive or inappropriate behavior toward a minor.
Enforcement
- Violations will be reviewed by league leadership.
- Discipline may include warning, suspension, or permanent removal.
- League officials may remove a coach immediately if player safety or sportsmanship is at risk.
- Ejections from a game by an official will be reviewed by MYBS Board for determination of disciplinary actions.

By serving as a coach, you agree to follow this Code of Conduct and understand that failure to do so may result in disciplinary action.
